What is the use of wooden cube?

A wooden cube is not a very commonly used thing in a chemistry lab. It might be used to raise things (in other words to adjust the height of something by putting the wood block underneath it). Usually a lab-jack is used for this instead however. Wood is also a poor conductor of heat.
