What is the definition of the word sad? (read more)?
The defintion of sad I am looking for is not the “depressed” kind of sad, but the kind of sad someone would call someone else for doing something, or knowing something alot. I am not sure how to explain it, but I hope you know what I mean!
Thanks.

I think you mean the use of “sad” to mean “pitiful.” It can be short for saying “that is sad that he wasted all afternoon playing that dumb video game.”

I think the kind of sad that you’re looking for refers to being sorry.
Example: I feel sad that you lost a loved one.
You can say I feel sorry that you lost a loved one.

I think that you mean “pathetic” or perhaps “sorry”.
“It was pathetic to see how hard she tried to please his friends.” or “Things were in a sorry state, messes everywhere.”
Is it one of those?
