What is school in Turkey like?

I’m doing an article about Schools Around the World and one of the countries I want to highlight is Turkey. I’d like to know about the schedule of a normal school day, what lunch is like, what teachers are like, what makes Turkish schools different from American schools, etc. All answerers welcome, but Turkish students who have first hand experience especially encouraged to answer.
