What is an Associates Degree? And how many hours does it take to obtain one?? thanks?

An associate degree is an academic degree awarded by community colleges, junior colleges, business colleges and some bachelor’s degree-granting colleges and universities upon completion of a course of study usually lasting two years.

In the United States and, more rarely, Canada, an associate degree is equivalent to the first two years of a four-year college or university degree. It is the lowest in the hierarchy of postsecondary academic degrees offered in these countries. It is also equivalent to the UK’s foundation degree and France’s diplôme d’études universitaires générales or DEUG.

An Associate’s Degree is the first level of post-secondary education that is commonly offered in the United States. It is the first level of education after one completes high school. It is an excellent preperatory program to enter the world of business.

It is not the end of your pursuit for knowledge! Many individuals persue an Associate Degree to determine what their future aspirations and goals really are. (I just ended a sentence with a preposition) Aaagh!

I have an Associates degree (and a Bachelors and a Masters).

I firmly believe that the Assoc degree laid a very strong foundation for the rest of my degrees/knowledge! My A.A. degree was 60 semester hours. I got mine thru a technical college.

I took 15 credits per semester ( x 3 semesters), that’s 45 semester hours/year. At that rate, I knocked mine out 4 semesters! (A little over a year).

Usually 60.

if you want to put it in hours…then it would be alllllllllooooootttt of hours…it takes years to obtain one
