What is a non-accredited university in the USA and is it illegal to use such degrees. How can I verify as to which universities are fake/substandard?

Colleges, not degrees, receive accrediting. This is done through an organization, such as the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SAC)
Many colleges have not been accredited (endorsed) by a major standards organization. This is particularly true when a new college is added at a university (school of medicine, school of law, etc). It can take several years to pass committee review.
It is the obligation of employers and postgrad schools to determine if an applicants credentials are satisfactory.

What ever you are thinking, getting into a non accredited school is no point, it is just waste of your time and money. Don’t bother, and there is no thing such as non accredited schools except for those that are fake and here are a few Corlins University Woodfield University and many more just search for life experience degrees, but if you wish to study the material then go to corlins good fake university, actually lets you study the materials and etc before you gain your degree.

A non-accredited degree means that the coursework and cirriculum has not been certified as “genuine” by whatever field of study it is. You’ll see a lot of online colleges like this. It is not illegal to use them, it’s just preferred to have an accredited degree from an accredited educational institution.
