What is a comprehensive test?

It includes everything you’ve studied for the course, not just the chapter or material you have just been on recently. Most final tests for a course are comprehensive, or a review of the class.

A comprehensive test includes everything related to its subject, as opposed to a spot test where only a limited area is covered. Comprehensive tests are difficult to make, and time consuming, as opposed to spot tests. Their advantage is that the grade reflects the knowledge of the tested. The disadvantage of the spot test is that it may be passed or failed by luck.

I comprehensive test is one that includes everything that you have learned throughout the year. Anything the teacher has discussed is fair game, so study up!
