You’ll get it as a refund generally and it should be used to help cover educational expenses such as books and supplies. Some schools though won’t do refunds and the grants will only be used to cover your tuition and fees.

at my school you also recieve a refund check in the mail and ur allowed to do whatever you want with it, but becareful that money should be spent wisely, pay for all ur books first, trust i had to learn the hard way…sometimes if you have excess grants scholarships from other places besides grants from the fasfa ur school will sometimes deduct portions of money from other parts of ur financial aid..for example i had several off campus scholarships worth about 1000 each i also recieved the pell grant and the cal grant and my state university grant..they deducted about 300 from each one of those ..so i can recieve my off campus scholarships…but u will recieve a refund check it will be either sent to u in the mail or put into ur bank account…dependin on ur school they will choose when u recieve it …good luck !!!!!!!

At my school, you can use it at the bookstore to buy books or whatever. I know that they don’t give it to you in a refund check though, but you should be able to find exactly where it goes by looking on your school’s website under the financial assistance or buisness office category.

you get to keep it but make it last because it will go just as fast as you got it.
