What does this quote mean?

It means that one should always strive to keep in good company, and if no one who would be a good influence or person to be around is there to associate with, then go it alone.

Its like saying if there are only bad people around you, then instead of being near them you should stay alone.

I think this quote is saying be friends with people who are on the same level with you ,people who don’t judge….. or people who can help you to do your best at all times( in other words travel with people who r equal or better than u)…..but if there are none equal or better than u, u should travel by yourself(it means travel or b companions with people who don’t judge u or say things to bring u down at all times or by all means).

Instead spend time with people who are on your level, or better still people who you admire and who you would want to rub off on you a little. Doing that, you continue growing as a person.

It really hinges on what basis one uses to judge ‘better’ and ‘equal’.

I think that it may mean that you should not spend time with people that you cannot learn from?

Or perhaps you should not waste time on those who cannot help you?

I don’t think I like that quote.

I would say it means, surround yourself with only positive influences throughout all areas of your life. Hanging around the wrong crowd will definitely prevent you from accomplishing the things you desire.

Don’t go through life associating with people worse than you. That encompasses intellegence, moral values, etc. If you can’t find people who are your equals or better than you, then trust yourself and follow your own heart and advice rather than someone elses.

Meaning, travel only with your legal spouse. If you’re not married, travel alone. And they mean it, or you’re in big trouble.

Travel with experienced persons of your class and ranking. Otherwise you end up paying their bills. I went to vegas with someone who was broke and it was NO fun, I paid for everything and yes, I would have have more fun alone.
