i think it just means that its suspicious if something seems perfect, because nothing is perfect.

The data looks too good. A flaw, or multiple, flaws, are imperfect data points, that suggest minor experimental error, but if clustered near the expected value, mean they average out to the predicted value. Getting only predicted values “just does not happen”.
Did that in high school physics. The experiment wrapping a loop of wire around a compass. Teacher gave us an F on an experiment. I asked why, since I wrote it up. He said we cheated. I asked how we could cheat, since we barely new what we were doing. He said the numbers were too good. I said I wrote what we got. To cheat, I would have changed the numbers. I wasn’t smart enough to know how to cheat.
The class was in an uproar with each retort.

defect: an imperfection in a device or machine; “if there are any defects you should send it back to the manufacturer”
defect or weakness in a person’s character; “he had his flaws, but he was great nonetheless”
add a flaw or blemish to; make imperfect or defective
