A circumstance is a precautionary explanation of what is to come from given actions. The word is usually used to warn what the consequence of an acton will be.

e.i.”Johny could not eat any more under the circumstance that his mother would not get any of the pizza.”

Circumstance means ” any reason”. You could use in a sentence by saying, ” Do NOT touch the stove under ANY circumstances!” Or, ” If you cry, I won’t give back the toy under any circumstances.” I hope this helps.

A circumstance is a condition (not medical). “Under these conditions, you should go to summer school.” “Under these circumstances, you should go to summer school.” The circumstances are the conditions such as – you flunked history or you want to go for Advanced Placement or you want to finish high school early. Circumstances are almost always plural, because situations are usually comprised of more than 1 circumstance.

Circumstances could be you are pregnant and your BF dropped you and your parents want you to have the child (or not, whatever). “Circumstances led her to have an abortion.” “Circumstances dictated that she keep the baby.”
