I’m guessing it means the same as “Put it in the books and send him to the line”…a Grant Napier (local sportscaster) common phrase….Meaning: that’s what it is…accept it, and move on….(whether we like it or not).

It can be a form of harassment, depends on how one look at it. The term “so gay” is normally used when a person does or say something of homosexual ways. For example: Me: OMG, why last night me and Shaun ran into AJ and he kept eyeing him up and down like he wanted him? Rick (straight male): Sh*t, what girl wouldn’t eye him? Me: You are so gay. That conversation is between friends, both straight, but depending on how the person says something that only a homosexual would say it and not a heterosexual, people say “you are so gay” Then you have what you stated, “out of malice; i.e. “so gay” is a pejorative for lame, weak, poor quality – everything bad?” It could be in that meaning. But where I am from, the meaning I gave you, it’s the only way it is used.
