an exponent is also called a power, like 2^3 (2*2*2) =8 where 3 is the exponent
so what you wrote is (5^8)*25

Exponents are variables raised to a certain degree like:
x^2+4x-2=0 the highest degree or exponent is 2 then 1 then 0
(5^8) *25 *to the power hints an exponent

I think you wirte it as :
(.5^8)(25)
the symbol after the .5 would mean if you wrote this by hand the 8 would be very small and above the .5.
