When I was a sophomore (I’m a junior now), I was too a bit nervous for high school. Its very different from middle school, just more homework though. But if you keep up with the school work, and have some fun in after school activities, high school will be fun. What you should have when you go to high school is time management. Organizing and setting a schedule will keep you right on top of things, and it will prevent you from getting too much stress. It is common that teens in high school can get stress with the amount of homework they have. I remember I was stress out in my sophomore year about a speech I had to do. I was nervous and a few days before I had to present my speech, I got sick. I still went to school, and I presented my speech and I got a good score. Also having a positive attitude helps when you have lots to do. If you have a lot of homework, just tackle one thing at a time, take a break, and make sure you study before tests. Good luck!

Just do your thing. High school is going to throw a lot of changes at you. Get involved in anything you can when it comes to activities. Don’t be the person that just goes home and sits around once school is out. But just work hard at anything you do. Be prepared that people change as well and that some people change for the good and some change for the worse. It’s a great experience if you make it a great experience. Life in general is what you make of it. It’s the old saying work hard and play hard. Study hard but make sure you stay involved in everything you can. Take those harder classes also and work hard at it. Keep your grades up as well. If you get good grades in junior high just keep doing what your doing by studying and being prepared. But mostly just be ready to roll with anything thats thrown at you. Many challenges are headed your way how you deal with them is really up to you. You have two options work hard and take the challenges head on or give up and do nothing. But always have fun while your doing it.

As I am going to be a sophomore this year, I completely understand what you’re going through, seeing as I went through the same experience not too long ago. High school is seriously much less nerve-wracking then people make it out to be. The teachers and everyone make such a big deal out of it, but the change isn’t THAT significant. I assure you, you’ll most likely find it 439572 times better than middle school, but not too much harder. Sure, you’ll be given more responsibilities, but they’re managable, and you’ll looove the freedom.
As far as advice on how to get ready for it, there isn’t too much you can do beforehand. Make sure, (obviously) you have all your school supplies, but other than that there isn’t much preparation over the summer. However, once school actually starts, first impressions are important as far as your teachers go. Make sure you do all of your homework, especially at the beginning, so they understand you’re serious. If you get off on the right foot, the rest of your high school years should be smooth sailin’!
