You are well on your way! The first step you need to take is to prepare yourself to get into a great undergraduate institution. Then, when you are there, you can create your record for medical school (they will not look at your high school record, just your college record and MCAT scores which you will take in college). For now, do this to get into the best undergraduate school:

(1) Get good grades. Try to get more A’s than B’s

(2) Take AP and college prep classes when you can

(3) Do well on your AP tests

(4) Find a passion outside of class, something you love and can talk about to show your individuality

(5) Study for your SATs. Doing well is very important for getting into a good undergraduate institution.

(6) Show leadership inside and outside of the classroom. Colleges look for people who have already demonstrated they can be successful.

Good luck!

1. Do well in science and math. Work on writing. English may be literature, which won’t help a whit when you are a doctor. Ask your English teacher if you can write expository essays (explaining things) and if he or she will correct them. Explain that you want to be a doctor, and doctors must write up their labs.

2. Consider taking science or math classes at a community college in the summer, especially between sophmore and junior year.

3. During your volunteering, ask the doctors for advice.

4. Read medical non-fiction. I’m reading Firlik’s Another Day in the Frontal Lobe, and it’s really good. So was Gawande’s Complications and Groopman’s How Doctor’s Think.

I additionally had this question whilst i became in 10th grade, which became 2 years in the past. The volunteer hours on the well being midsection are very magnificent, and your grades are actual extra useful what mine have been at that element. What i desperate to do became choose for an instantaneous 8-300 and sixty 5 days scientific application, the place the student is straight away usual into scientific college, for this reason no longer worrying approximately using as med college is transforming into very annoying to get into. For reference, look into the UMKC scientific application, that’s a 6 300 and sixty 5 days med application, very aggressive, yet therea re others like it, 7 and eight 300 and sixty 5 days assured classes that u can get into. additionally, in extreme college take as many college classes as attainable with out over-heating your self- AP classes. those will incredibly help u interior the long-term, have confidence me. i’m in a 8 300 and sixty 5 days med application, and going into my sparkling. 300 and sixty 5 days i’ve got already got 15 hrs. This incredibly helps out. additionally for me the MCAT does no longer impact my acceptance into med college, that’s a significant sigh of alleviation. additionally try incredibly annoying on SAT and ACT, to me ACT became eaisier and that i think of that’s what have been given me into the 8 300 and sixty 5 days med application. go searching on the colleges on your state and notice if there are any med classes like this. stable success!!

Work really hard to get on the A honor roll, keep volunteering, and consider joining a medical association or group, even a small one, and look for leadership roles in different areas, such as “in charge of a group of volunteers who . . . ” Overall, I would say that as long as your generals match that as the college you want to go for’s program, you should be ok, but those extras will help a lot more.

It looks like you’re on the right path. I would focus on keeping your grades above a B — great medical schools are difficult to get into and the more competitive you are the better. No more C’s, okay?

Focus on your sciences and have fun with your other courses. As long as you have completed the science requirements (and get great grades in them) you’ll do well.

Good luck! Oh yes, and focus on studying for your SATs now.

You grades looks good. and you got 222hours of volunteer work in Hospital. Impressive. but, what really matter is your grade in university. Not in highschool. You might want to worry about getting into undergraduate first. Highschool grade don’t really matter. Plus as you go into junior year in University, you will need to take MCAT. MCAT is reallyreally important. You need to get least 35 out of 40 for MCAT in order to get into a really good medical school. Plus more volunteer works in college, and being active in Alpha Epsilon Delta (Club for Medical Students) will help. and getting to know professors well enough to write you good recommendations are important. Finally, if you can, research work in university will greatly help you chance to get into med school. Good Luck!

Biology and Chemistry is what your really need. If you can take AP classes for both then you would be really on track.
