Responsibility. In college, there is no one there to tell you to complete your homework and no one for the teacher to call if you don’t complete the assignment. You and you alone are responsible for your fate.

Coursework. The work in the classroom is faster paced and there’s more of it. You get a syllabus at the beginning of the semester with assignments and the expected due dates. No one is going to ask you what happened when you don’t turn in that term paper. You’ll see the consequences when you receive your end of semester grades.

Students. In college, your lab partner may be the same age as your father. Or, they could be as young as your little sister. In college, age is not a differentiator.

Professors. In college, you meet some of the greatest minds in the field of study who encourage you to argue with them and challenge their theory and belief.

Friends. In college, you will meet people that you will grow to love and know for life.

#1 high school is free. College isn’t

#2 In college you are responsible for your own stuff. It is your job to be there on time, do the homework, get the book, sign up for class the works. No one is going to be riding your butt to get you to do what you need to be doing. It is up to you.

#3 You are freer at college. You are paying so you can pretty much do as you please withing the bounds of the law and school rules. Some school require mandatory attendance while others don’t. You don’t have to ask permision to leave the campus to go to lunch. Lunch is actually when ever you want.

#4 The first few courses you take in college will be similar to your highschool classes. English, math, history. But after that you get into your core classes. Here you will learn what you went there to learn. It is easier to learn things that you are really interested in. Which brings me to #5

#5 After the first 2 years the people in your course are people who really want to be there. It is a great thing to work with people who have the same interest. High school is mandatory.

I would say the biggest difference is that in college you have to take responsibility for your own learning.

In HS there is a lot of follow up to homework etc. In college it’s on you.

you won’t be pushed and monitored so much. Yes you have much greater freedom but the other side of that is that you also have much greater responsibility

good luck

Good luck in college! I think the main difference will be that we will have to control ourselves. There will be no one there telling you you have to get your work done, and you will have to go seek out help yourself. Since you won’t be told to keep a certain curfew or not to drink, you can do whatever you want, but remember that your actions can have consequences. Self discipline is important.

Freedom in fact is the biggest difference, because now it’s up to you if you go to class or not, if you study or not, and if you suceed or not. You have to actually study and work out, and learn how to balance your academic career with your social life.

this relies upon on whether you’re speaking with regard to the maths courses a math considerable ought to take or those taken as commonplace ed courses via different scholars. in many circumstances, in spite of the undeniable fact that, college math is extra theoretical and precis than intense college math. they are extra prepared on recommendations in many circumstances than with calculation strategies. Many college math instructions, somewhat those required for math majors, are evidence-based, collectively as maximum intense college instructions are not. in many intense college instructions, scholars spend loads of sophistication time engaged on problems. In college very almost all classification time is spent on lecture–with the professor explaining problems or proving theorems. pupil artwork is many times predicted to be completed outdoors of sophistication. Plan on spending extra time examining in college math instructions than in intense college. you will in all probability have fewer problems to do than in intense college (and homework in many circumstances would not count selection for plenty–if any–of your grade). in spite of the shown fact that, the subjects themselves are in all probability to be lots harder.

college professors won’t hold your hand to complete assignments. they also don’t give a crap if you show up or not. they get paid regardless of your attendance. they’ll fail you if you deserve it.

you don’t have as much help.. in highschool, you’re looked after, but in college, (moreso in university) you’re on your own. and chances are, you’ll also have a job while you’re in college 😐
