What are the advantages of having a glasshouse, such as that of Philip Johnson’s?
Philip Johnson’s Glass House is one architecture to marvel at but what impacts does a glasshouse have on the environment etc.?…..just out of curiosity 😛

advantages of a glasshouse are: high light transmission, less air exchange and consequently higher CO2 levels, reduction of pests (and consequently chemicals) by filtering ventilation air, improved humidity control. During the first years the experiments were designed to optimize the ventilation system (sound level, ventilation capacity, air ducts, evaporative cooling) and the control-algorithms. Based on these results the ventilation system was altered and one single unit was tested by the TFDL.
