What are my chances of getting into UPENN and what should I do to improve those chances?
– Debate Team (10th grade) – Helped me learn how to become a better public speaker.
– J.V. Baseball (10th grade)
– Junior Achievement (9th and 10th grade) – program where you go into an elementary school and teach a class for a day. Good leadership experience.
– Inducted into Arista (10th grade) – highest honors program in my school and I have to do community service
– Ranked 2nd in the school with a 3.9 GPA
– Took AP Calculus as a sophomore and got a 5.
What I am planing to do:
– Inducted as the Arista Treasurer (12 grade)
– Student Association President (11th grade)
– Junior Achievement (11th and 12th grade)
– Debate Team (11th and 12th grade)
– Varsity Baseball (12 grade because I want the New York One’s Scholar Athlete Award)
– Will take all the AP’s in my school except US History (AP English, AP Spanish, AP Physics, AP Calculus BC and AP Statistics as a Junior)
I am currently studying hard for the SAT’s. If I get a 2050, will I get into UPENN?

If you do extracurriculars that is related to the major you want, that is definitely a plus. Rather than volunteering at some hospital, doing things that are more “special” may help you, since your academic side seems to be fine and you are challenging yourself. You can for example do some research, find an internship, or do funraising for important causes etc…
Also, 2050 seems rather low for UPenn… I had several friends apply to that school with near perfect SAT scores, but they were rejected last year. But again, individual cases may differ… Good luck 🙂
