What are mean names to call someone?

My favorite is “indeterminate bozon”, which is actually the name of a sub-atomic particle.

You should never call someone mean names, even in a “joking” way. That is a form of verbal abuse, and you have to think about how you would react if someone called you a nasty or demeaning name. Only bullies and bigots do this to other people. This is one of my pet peeves, because I have heard of too many people being hurt from the names others have called them. Have you not read accounts of all these school shootings? Most of the shooters involved had been called names by their peers growing up, and these names finally took their toll on the person’s sense of self-worth and self-esteem until they had to do something to “prove everybody wrong”, and they chose to kill their former friends. DON’T DO IT–even in jest. It could be you someday on the receiving end. These other answers prove my point 200%.

It probably isn’t a good idea to do this. Unless you know this individual extremely well, they may take offense at anything you say, even if you think you are joking. If you must do this, pick something which NOBODY could probably think was true; however, even so, you never know what someone’s insecurities are, and even if you call an incredibly beautiful person ugly, or a brilliant person stupid, they might doubt their own strengths and be offended.
