Volunteer work? High School Senior Prospective Accountant/CPA?

Where could I volunteer to gain some experience in the Accounting/Finance field and impress the Admission office at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign: College of Business?

To be totally honest it is hard to get any relevant volunteer work or even unpaid internship until you have at least 2 years in college under your belt. Quite honestly, in accounting you really aren’t expected to know anything about accounting until your junior/senior year in college. Once you are in college and have taken a few acct classes then I would recommend volunteering at free personal income tax help workshops and applying for internships.

Right now, for college admittance, I would focus on doing any kind of volunteer work, even if its not relevant to business, as that is something most colleges really like.
