Transfering high schools in a different state. Need help!?

Okay, my family had decided to move from New York to Florida. I am currently going to my junior year of high school and I wanted to know what do I need (documents and such) in order to transfer to a high school in Florida. I heard I needed my transcript, if so, where do I get it and do I have to personally go and get the transcript or can they mail it? Thanks in advance.

Specifically for the transcript: you can probably call your old school’s Guidance department, the principal, or secretary, and ask them to fax your transcript to your new school.

Local newspapers tend to announce New Student Registration days–if you are already living in Florida, look out for the newspaper or ask a neighbor for it. School websites might have it, if they’re updated diligently.

you need a ton of documents, look into the new school board that your going to’s website they should have a list. It usually is transcripts, vaccinations, proof of residency, social security number, birth certificate, proof of any disorders, and then you parents also have to show proof of residency and social security numbers as well, and possibly a drivers liscense
