To toss your cookies?

Does anyone know where this phrase came from?

It’s pretty obivous what it means but I just was wondering if there was any history behind the phrase.

Like how to kick the bucket was coined from people wo would stand on buckets and kick the bucket out from underneath them to kill themselves.
