there’s been a change, now what do i do? Help please?

As a senior in high school, I wasn’t sure what career to pursue. I didn’t have much money, so I went to a local community college (Glendale Community College), and I’m majoring in biology. I am about to start my second year here, and I have finally decided that I want to be a pediatrician.

Have I screwed it up for myself? I know that Medical Schools are very competitive, but, last year, I got all As and Bs. If I keep this up and transfer to a four year college after next year, how good (or bleak) will my chances of getting into medical school be, since I started out at a community college? Is there anything I can do to improve my chances?

No, the fact that you started at a community college shouldnt’ make a difference. When you fill out Graduate apps, it may be a good thing to explain in your personal statement that you began at a community college to save money since you didn’t know what you wanted to study.

Most graduate applications are more worried on your senior (and sometimes junior) year of school. So next year just transfer to a really kick *** university, continue to get good grades, and everything should work out fine for you.

The fact that you started at GCC will not hold you back from getting into Med School. Besides them not caring, GCC is a reputable school.

As long as you do well in your science classes and other prerequisites, you will have just as good a chance to get into any Med School
