teenage problems?

1st,thx 4 sparin ur time to help me.Im a 16yr old student suffering from some problems.

(1)I’m goin to attend the college entrance exam next yr & get quite stressed. It might be reason that I easily get moody & quarrel a lot with my parents, boyfriend, etc. I always regret after those fights &keep remindin myself I shouldnt but I just still get out of control.what can I do?

(2)Im from a non English speakin country but I started learnin it since young, now I can communicate in english with little difficulties though I admit my grammar &vocabulary is limited.I took the TOEFL test & the results show that all my required skills r of high level.&da problem is,Im unable to do well in English exams of my school!though I’ve done tons of excercises n recited quite a lot English passages…just everything I can do. I wonder if theres anything wrong with the educational system but My parents wont agree. theyre pushin me &askin what Im gonna do about it.so…Its really hard for me to decide .

Even native English speaking students have some trouble in school, and yes, the school system definately has some things wrong with it.

I’m teaching a summer school course for second going on third graders and these children (who are all native English speakers) can barely read and write. They’re not mentally challenged, but when I tell them things like, “Cut out a circle with construction paper” it takes them 10 minutes because their Kindergarden and 1st grade teachers didn’t show them.

Also, the curriculem required that I teach the kids “Area” and “Perimeter” even though many of them can barely add 1 + 2 + 4 and could not do multiplication at all.

BUT anyhow, let’s get back to you. Your school should have an ESOL coordinator that you can talk to about some of your concerns. The coordinator may be able to address some of them and direct you to where you need to go for extra help to do better on these English passages.

Maybe there’s a tutoring service that’s free for ESOL students or the coordinator may know a college student that speaks your language who graduated from your school and will help you.
