If they’re being disruptive, then it’s like any other school and the answer is no. If they’re asking questions, or commenting on something, at a time when the professor welcomes it, it’s fine. I’m sure you know very well that the restriction on women speaking in church in the Bible was only for disruptive women. If not, you know now. 😉 Edit: I’m reading over that wiki article, and WOW! They have some really strict rules! I’d probably get kicked out the first day if I went there (especially with the no-smoking rule, as I’m a smoker)! But it is interesting that they have such a high rate of students that pass the bar exam. Eighty-nine percent? Wow.

Yes. With the rise in non-traditional college students going back to school, the Internet can be an extremely valuable tool for learning.

For example, I achieve my BA degree online. Because I had two children and a singl parent with extenuating circumstances, relocating to a university was not an option.

Most of my classes were independent study, meaning I was given a homework schedule, studied the text, and turned in the assignments. While I learned a lot, sufficient to earn my degree with honors, I missed out on the classroom experience-interacting with the other students and professor in real time.

I am all for any method that will honestly give people the opportunity to learn, grow, and improve employment opportunities.

Yes, I think so. It saves the Universities and the students money. It also is a major help to those that are working full time jobs, have families, live far away from any schools, constantly travel, etc. As long as they enact measures to help prevent cheating and can still provide quality content that will help prepare the students for the future, then I say go ahead!

I have taken a few online classes throughout my four years of undergrad. I found them to be great and it made my schedule very flexible. I loved it.

Yes – Could be very useful for distance learning or for someone that misses a lecture etc to be able to view it online or go back and review lectures as study / exam prep….

Yes. Because some people like stay at home moms can’t leave home all the time.
