Should I take early childhood education?

I got accepted to a few programs at a college and I chose to take early childhood education…but I don’t know if it will suit me…I’ve never really had to deal with kids or anything like that so I’m not sure if I’ll like it or if I’ll be good at it..It’s just that I don’t want a regular boring 9-5 job, and teaching other people was kinda always something that interested me…but I’m more of an arts person. What should I do? I just need some opinions cause I’m really lost about my future…grrr..

I might be able to give you somke feedback..Email me

I taught early childhood for 5 years in another country (ages 18mo to 5) then 6 years of Kindergarten here in TX..Last year did Art for a PK-2 grade school and right now I am working on ADminsitration…

Working with small children is not an easy job, and honestly whatever you learn in college will not really prepare you for what is comming ahead…

There are many aspects that you will have to deal with…such as Parents, other teachers, the education system itself and your administrators….You need to be ready for change, cause in teaching changes is an ongoing practice…

If you like ARt then I would strongly Suggest to become and elementary ART teacher..It is an awesom JOB..What I do want to tell you that The experience that I obtained as a classroom teacher has greatly help me with my current Art possition…So..I suggest… GEt a teaching degree, then move towards teaching art… If you need to talk to me email me, I might be able to guide you…

Good Luck
