Should I become a nurse, or not?
I just graduated from highschool, and I’m going to study to become a nurse this september. I begin to be a litle worried though, I’ve heard bad things about this job. Bad work shifts, disrespects from doctors, families….and more.. Is it really that bad?

It has it’s good points and bad points… The good point, you’ll never be without a job. The bad: you’re treated like crap, deal with the crap, all the guts none of the glory, do all the work and the doctors get all the credit.

I’m not a nurse, but I am studying to be a doctor and have had a lot of volunteer experience at hospitals. And while unquestionably, the job is not easy, all jobs in the medical field require you to work some long and late shifts. However, your work shifts will not always be long or late-night. And, there will always be people in whatever profession you choose that will be disrespectful. From watching nurses, patients, and doctors, doctors and families being rude to nurses is rare.
Overall, while the profession is alot of work, its very rewarding to help others. i hope this helps.

A nurse is a great choice for a profession. One thing is you don’t have to worry about job security.. there are always people that are sick and dieing I know that sounds bad but its true. Try for a RN instead of LPN, you will make more money. You can work in a clinic and have normal hours opposed to working shift in a hospital…you may make a little more in a hospital but you will have a normal life in a doctors clinic.
