School Supplies?

My son will be starting pre – k this year. Ive looked at different school supply lists and its rediculous a toddler would eat most of that stuff. Any ways could someone give me a list to buy for a starting pre schooler thanks

It’s unusual for a preschool to ask for supplies for the classroom. Your child will probably need a change of clothes and bedding for his cot or mat if he will be napping or resting. He may need a smock. Make sure his name is on everything. Other than that, wait to hear from the school.

if your childs preschool demands any supplies i would say find another school….in general the only items a child was asked to bring was a blanket/pillow if wanted and some schools also ask to keep a change of clothing in the childs cubby for emergencies…..on occasion the individual teachers may ask a child/classmates to bring items in for a project but not something on a regular basis….most preschools are well stocked with supplies if you find the occasional one that is not usually the teacher or director may ask for donations but even that is unusual

Here’s the list for my local pre-school:

Full-sized backpack

1 Box Kleenex

Scissors

4 Glue sticks

4 pk Playdoh

Washable watercolor paints

Washable markers

Toothbrush and Cover

Hope that helped!

Most schools I worked at – you didn’t need to bring anything. Check with the school before you buy stuff. They may supply everything (including a change of clothes if he needs it).

Definitely a small, warm blanket. Maybe a small pillow(like a travel pillow). A backpack to keep these items in. And don’t forget a change of clothes. That’s about it. I wouldn’t purchase anything else until after you speak with his teacher.

Most schools supply themselves but for your home I would recommend large crayons, washable markers, paper lots of it(construction and white), some child safe scissors and lots of books for you to read with your child.
