Residency for college with a home deed?

HI everyone:

My family moved from FL to TX this summer and purchased a home in texas. I am hoping to transfer to a college in TX.

I see that they require recidency for 12 months, to be classified a a resident and pay less, with an intent of maintaining residence. (And if someone is buying a home, and living there, shouldn’t that prove they came to that home to maintain residence?)

Could I claim residency with a new home deed, and voters registration, drivers licence, before the 12 months, like if I were to want to transfer next Spring?

Any of you who have experience in this I would love your advise!

I think the answer would be no but I recommend talking with someone at the admissions office to confirm.

In Nebraska they require that you live there for a year without taking classes to prove that you did not move there for the purpose of school, I assume Texas is the same.
