Question regarding ACT and SAT tests and scores?

In regard to your first question, when people ask you what you got on the ACT, you would usually tell them your composite, in your case a 31. When you submit your ACT score to colleges, they will see your entire ACT score. That is, they will not only see your composite score, but also your English, Math, Reading, Science, and English/Writing Combined.

When choosing to submit ACT scores to colleges, take this into account. Your 1350 will place you in the 86th percentile. Your 33 on the ACT however will place you in the 99.95 percentile. I would strongly recommend sending in the ACT score.

lol, say 33. I suck at timed writing, so I generally ignore the writing portion. I got a 35 without, and a 32 with. Doesn’t matter, many colleges still don’t bother to look at it. If you’re applying someplace they do look at writing, though, they’ll look at the 33 AND see that writing gave you a 31 (31 being given as the composite WITH the writing part, not your score only on the writing, which confuses some people[Edit: scratch that, I looked more closely, and they give the ENGLISH WITH writing as 31… so to get your composite with writing, you would substitute that for the English score. Sorry, my mistake. You still say 33 when asked. End edit]). Schools that don’t look at writing should only see and consider the 33.

Is the 1350 out of 1600 or 2400? (Without writing or with?) I would assume it’s without, since 1350 is rather bad out of 2400. 1500 is average. 1359 out of 1600 is pretty good, but I think your ACT score is better. Go ahead and send both scores, though, and any new scores you get if you retake either. If you retake them, especially the SAT, and do any better, that looks good. And schools will like to see that you’ve done well on both. Good luck!

If people ask you what you got on the ACT, they are asking about your cumulative score, so you should say 33.

Where I live (in Louisiana), people are more familiar with ACT scores than SAT, and I’d say that Louisiana colleges place more emphasis on the ACT, though SAT’s are equally valid.

I’d say that a 33 on the ACT is better than a 1350 on the SAT, seeing as how 36 is max on ACT, and 1600 is max on SAT.

33/36 = 92%

1350/1600 = 84%

So, mathematically, the ACT is better too haha.

You got a 33 composite score. That’s your ACT score. Not too shabby. That’s what people are going to see.

1350 on the 1600 scale? I do believe that your ACT score is better. You should send both of your scores to colleges. They’re both pretty good.

When did yo utake said SAT Test? If its before this year then yes its a good score, but if you took it this year then its out of 2400.

But since your ACT score is good, I’m gonna go with the offical answer: “How about you give both scores to the college, it gives you a well-rounded college entrance profile.”

well your ACT score is amazing because the highest you can get is 36 so definately send that unless the college only accepts SAT but there are only like 50 of those in the US

your ACT score is wayyy better, not so much the SAT score needs a little improvement if its out of the new 2400 & it depends on what college you want to attend.

Most colleges ask for one or the other. As a rule of thumb, northern colleges ask for SAT and southern colleges ACT.
