I don’t exactly know what kind of curriculum “programming and computer software engineering” has, but it sounds pretty identical to computer science. The bulk of the computer science curriculum is programming and software engineering (often there is a class with this name at the higher levels). The only difference which I can think of which might be the case (again, I don’t know), is that sometimes computer science delves into a bit of mathematics (mathematical logic, statistics and probability, and numerical analysis) which complements the programming side of things well.
