Problem to deal with subject for future major?

I am currently doing 2nd year Bachelor of Science which I’ll major on next year. I am now doing 3 subjects: Human Physiology, Biochemistry and Microbiology. I think I might major in Microbiology next year but I need a science elective. For people who knows well about science degree, what do you rekon? Biochem or Physiology has broader choice for future career? I am interested in both of them but I have to choose one. I appreciate your opinion. Thanks.

It sounds like you’re not really sure what you want your profession to be at the moment. Nothing out of the ordinary for someone at your stage within higher education but its important that you start narrowing down the options. I say this because answering your question without information on what field you might want to work in would be somewhat irresponsible. All the classes that you’ve mentioned are actually getting quite specialized and don’t have truly broad applications.

Just about every university and college in the US has a career counseling department. My recommendation would be to take advantage of the services they provide. Go talk with some of the career counselors there, find one that you like and have them help you narrow down your career choices. That will definitely make developing an academic plan for the next two years a lot easier and take a lot of the stress out of the equation.
