I am not very familiar with Indian culture or language, but I have some experience with English transliteration — could “Sumaina” be a variant spelling on “Samana” (Pali), from “Sramana” (Sanskrit)?
Samana are a type of wandering ascetic monk of ancient India.
Buddhists decribe a Samana as being “someone who has pacified evil.”
(Historically, Gautama Buddha himself was a samana.)
