Make sure that any online university you consider is regionally accredited (basically means approved by the United States Department of Education). I know that you’re working in Saudi, but if you’re going to be paying for an American degree, you might as well get it from one that’s regionally accredited. See the first link below for more information.

Here are some links:

AIU is not accredited in the US. However, if you think that this is not an issue for you, then you’re fine. Read here for more information:

This site, http://www.geteducated.com is an excellent site if you want to look for accredited online degrees. This is a list of accredited online undergraduate degrees:

You can take the above list and see if any of those schools are listed here: For example, Baker College Online (third school in the above link), is listed at the top here in this link. If you want more info on it, just google “Baker College”.

Do you know anyone in Saudi who got a job (without connections/wasta) with an AIU degree? It would be best if you can find other AIU graduates there to ask them questions about their AIU experience and how their degrees were received by employers in Saudi.

I think Monty is correct. Why not get a degree from an Indian university that is recognized by the Indian government? Lots of people are working fine in Saudi with degrees from India. Or consider one of the accredited colleges in the list above. Either one is probably a safer choice for you than AIU.

Hope this helped. Good luck.
