Please edit this sentence- do I need comma before “or” and do I need the word “why’ after reason?
I’m not sure if I need to use a comma before “or” being there are only 2 ideas in this sentence? Also do I need the word “why” after reason? Please reply ASAP anyone that knows FOR SURE, thanks
“Is the reason WHY you don’t want to be friend with your cousin because you are holding a a grudge with him, or because you dont have anything in common?

Maybe if you’re not sure, you could try rewriting the sentence. How about:
“Are you not friends with your cousin because you don’t have anything in common, or are you holding a grudge AGAINST him?”
This is just a little random thing, but you may find yourself interested in a podcast called “Grammar Girl’s Quick and Dirty Tips for Better Writing” or something like that. It can be found on iTunes and it’s a fun little 3-5 minute thing that gives you helpful tips for good grammar. 😉
