1. When 40 drops of water from an eyedropper are dropped into a graduated cylinder, they occupy a volume of 3/4 of a cubic centimeter. What is the mass of each drop? What is the volume of each drop?
2. If two liters of water are mixed w/ three liters of alcohol, what is the density of the mixture? (The density of water is 1.00g/cm3, and the density of alcohol is 0.79g/cm3.)

1) If volume of each drop = V then
40V = 3/4 cc
Volume of each drop = 3/160 cc
Mass of each drop = 3/160* 1 = 3/160 gms
2) mass of 2 litres of water = 2000 *1 = 2000 gms
mass of 3 litres of alcohol = 3000* 0.79 = 2370 gms
combined mass = 4370 gms for a total Volume = 5000 cc
Therefore, combined density = 4370/5000 = 0.874 gm/cc
