occupational therapist assistant?

Me and my husband were looking into going to school to become occupational therapist assistants. I was wondering if the job was worth the money and if it was a flexible family friendly job. Also is it possible to get that degree online and if so where? Any general information from someone who has this job would be muchly appreciated

I dont think it is possible to get a degree online. Most of it is hands on training you get when you intern. It is very flexible but most of that depends on where you go to work. Your best bet would be to visit a center and ask all your questions to the therapists there because who knows what these nutcasses will say….

I agree with “no_life_I” as to the basic differences between a PT and an OT assistant. PTs and OTs can earn post-graduate degrees and go one to head up a department. An assistant is just that. This position requires an Associate in Applied Science degree and an assistant works under the supervison of a registered OT. If you decide to go all the way, you will have more autonomy.
