Just play with her; read books, watch DVDs, visit the zoo, library, or museums; go swimming, have fun baking cookies, or cleaning the house.

No program, or curriculum can come close to teaching all the skills she will learn from just simply participating in your daily routine according to her own abilities.

If you’d like for her to learn basic skills; in a book form buy a pre-school all in one book at Sam’s Club or so ($ 5.00), or visit a few free websites and print of what you need.

Two books I would also recommend for all young parents are:

Home Grown Kids, & Better Late Than Early — both by Dr. Raymond Moore and Dorothy Moore.

have fun.

Lots of reading to her is where I would recommend starting. Asking simple “grammar level” questions to see what she is understanding would enhance the experience but just exposing her to the joy of learning will be the key aspect. Coloring, building blocks and other motor skill development activities can fill your time. In addition, practical things like learning to brush her hair/teeth, button things, zip up and down stuff will give her more motor skill development without being a formal education. This is the time when you and she can enjoy developing her heart to see “school” as something to share with mommy and grow. Consider reading Trivium Pursuit for philosophical ideas concerning when and what to do before the age of 10…they have a free online article about this.
