Numerical Methods…boundary value problem with shooting method????
I have a Numerical Methods final tomorrow, and I’m having trouble figuring out one of the problems. It’s going to be a Boundary-Value problem, 2nd order equation. It needs to be changed into two 1st order equations, with starting values given, and we have to calculate one point. Then, with 3 boundary conditions, and the results of 2 guesses given, we’re going to have to derive the shooting method with taylor series, and use that to calculate the next guess. I need some help please! anything would be great. Thanks!

holy crap. that sounds hard. look into mathworld.com and just google for “examples” on whatever methods you have to use. More likely than not you’ll find a similar example. good luck.
