nuclear energy debate?

The waste it produces is very often radioactive and very harmful to both humans and the environment. The problem is, we can’t just chuck it out. We have to dispose of it in a safe way so that it doesn’t harm ppl and this is often very expensive or simple impossible. We have tons of barrels of waste just lying underground because there is no way to get rid of it and soon it’ll take up so much space, what happens there is just not enough space?
Also one of the most important arguments is that it gives opportunity for terrorists. Terrorists can use the fuel from some nuclear reactors to make bombs, and the science behind the nuclear reactor is pretty much the same as the science behind the bomb (eg Hiroshima and Nagasaki, research those). Also look up Iraq and uranium enrichment.
There is a danger of nuclear meltdown – if this happens it can release enormous amounts of radiation in the air and harm a lot of ppl. Research the effects of the Chernobyl Disaster.
It presents a risk to the ppl working in a nuclear power plant, they can be harmed by radiation (nuclear reactors emit gamma radiation and other types as well). Radiation can cause cancer.
That’s all I can think of. Good luck!
#1 Do we really want another Chernobyl? It happened once, it CAN happen again.
#2 What happens to the nuclear fuel rods after having them run through a nuclear reactor? Do we really want more environmental problems or nuclear weapons?
#3 The development of nuclear energy has caused many people and many businesses to demand more power for their day to day needs. Why has energy conservation always taken a back seat?
#4 Alternate energy sources. So many exist, but because nuclear energy is in use, very few people are willing to find out if something could be better.
