The socioeconomic class levels of the characters would be the differences (social and economic) that are apparent between the classes (rich, poor). Determine the nature and relationship of the characters based on their class. Sociology is the science of society, social institutions, and social relationships; specifically: the systematic study of the development, structure, interaction, and collective behavior of organized groups of human beings. How might history (the era in which the story is set) affect their behavior? How would their upbringing affect their role or attitude?

Look, go out and rent the movie that would help since you obviously couldn’t be bothered to read the book. The way people married in Jane Ausin’s time was for economic and family advantage. Seldom for love. The girls would be looking for rich husbands. The men, the rich men could almost have thier pick from any available woman. There were standards and a rich man had to consider what kind of woman they wanted. The men usually just proposed and women usually accepted if the the brides father found the arrangement to be economically advantageous. A rich woman would never be with a poor man in this arrangement. Generally marriage was done to improve the status of the family when possible. Romance and love were always secondary considerations. That is one of the things that made Jane Austin so different for writers from her period.
