Most definitely. A career counselor will help you to figure out what you’re good at, and will help you to decide what you’d like to study in college. Also, when the time is right, he or she will get you through applying to college (usually with fees waived).

It’s not a bad idea, but you really don’t need to get set in any particular career path right now. You have so much longer to figure out what you are interested in! So don’t pigeon-hole yourself, but it will be good to hear all sorts of options that are out there. In the end, it’s up to you and only you what you do when you decide to pick a career.

They will sit down and talk to you, review your school records, may give you some tests and then tell you what they think you should be looking at for possible employment. Mine told me I should think about being a carpenter because “I really doubt you’ll ever amount to much”.
