Moving away to college?

Ok so I am going to a college next year that has four locations. One of the locations is in my home state and that is the one I have always planned to attend. My parents loved the idea. But now i am realizing that I want to leave and go to one of the other locations. I have not told my parents to and I don’t know how. Plus I had everything planned about how to save my money and I was going to start buying things now to have on campus. But now that I have to travel I don’t think that is such a good idea. So my question is what are some things to tell my parents about my new decision and how can I still be college ready ahead of time??

these days sure everyone who wants to be employed is employed, but money is tight and costs are going up. I’d suggest that you choose the college nearest your home and commute. Remember that preparation for college takes getting grants and loans and determining what you want to get into, etc. and don’t concentrate on any materialistic things like buying stuff. Once you get there you can get the important things if you plan to live on campus.

Will the college let you change campuses? I’d check that first.

Think about why you want to go to one of the other locations, rather than the one you’d originally intended. Have you visited that new campus? I’d be sure to make a visit before I made any decision.

Write down, or keep a mental list, of the reasons why you want to change campuses. Also think about why you’d wanted to go to your home campus. Must you make the change, or can you get those same things at your home campus? If so, then I’d probably try to do that. If not, and you really feel you must go elsewhere, and the school itself has told you it’s okay, then it’s time to talk to your family. And, because you’ve thought all this through, you’ll have a way to approach them and real, articulate reasons behind your decision.
