There are 60 seconds in a minute and 60 minutes in an hour. Mr. and Mrs. Anderson will be gone for 5.5 hours; so

60 * 60 * 5.5 * $2.00 = $39,600

P.S. I want this job!! 🙂

The Andersons are away for 5 and a half hours. That is the time from 6 pm to 11:30 pm (assuming the same day). You have to convert 5.5 hours into seconds. There are 60 minutes to the hour so you first convert 5.5 hours into minutes.

5.5 hr x 60 min/hr = 330 minutes.

There are 60 seconds per minute so we multiply the number of minutes by 60 to get the number of seconds.

330 min x 60 sec/min = 19,800 seconds.

Since the fee is $2/min, we must multiply the number of seconds by 2 to get the payment

19,800 sec x $2/sec = $39,600

That is a lot of money for an evening of babysitting

First, you have to find out how many hours she worked. 6:00 to 11:00 is 5.5 hours. Now there are 60 minutes in an hour, you multiply the hours she worked by 60 to find how many minutes she worked: 330 minutes. Do the same to find how many seconds she worked. 330×60=19800. Kathy worked 19,800 seconds at $2 per second, so she earned $39,600. Weird word problem, but I wouldn’t mind being Kathy.

There are 60 seconds in a minute and 60 minutes in an hour. So to find out the number of seconds in an hour, you would multiply 60 x 60 to get 3600 seconds in one hour. Now if you are babysitting from 6 – 11:30 that is 5.5 hours. If you multiply the number of seconds in one hour by the number of hours. i.e. 3600 x 5.5, you will get the number of seconds that you are babysitting total. Now if you get 2 dollars per each second, you would multiply the number of seconds you babysit by 2 to get your answer.

I hope this helps!

Let’s find the elapsed time

Time = 11:30 – 6:00

Time = 5:30 hours or 330 minutes

There are 60 sec/min

seconds = 330 * 60

seconds = 19,800

At $2 per second

Total pay = 19800 * 2

Total pay = $39,600

I would like to apply for this baby sitting job!

ok now

from 6:00—>11:30 is 5:30 hours

then take 5:30 hours turn into a Minutes , and from Minutes turn into second , than times 2

Super easy

Yea, it’s easy…

$2 a second x 60 (seconds in a minute) = $120 a minute

$120 x 60 (minutes in a hour) = $7200 a hour

total of 5 1/2 hours…

$7200 x 5.5 = $39,600 total

That’s a lot of money. 🙂

It is relatively simple there are 3600 seconds in an hour. She is working for 5 1/2 hours. She is working for 19800 seconds so she will make 39600 dollars. Nice work if you can get it.

If it’s $2 per second that means $120 per minute

If it’s $120 per minute its $7200 per hour

If it’s $7200 per hour it’s $39600.

I wouldn’t mind being there baby sitter
