What they may ask you:

1) describe management techniques

2) how would you accommodate different learning styles

3) what do you teach (ALWAYS answer students)

4) who is the most important person in the school (again ALWAYS answer students)

5) what do you think the parent role should be

6) how is your curriculum learner-centered

7) how would you accommodate special ed inclusion students (follow accomdations in IEP)

What you should ask:

1) what is the discipline policy in the school, district?

2) do you need a coach (if you have any athletic experience)

3) what district resources/staff development are available to new teachers to help success in first year

4) what is the graduation rate of the school, district

5) what technology is available in the school

6) also let it be known that you are willing to sponsor/co-sponsor a club that you may have interest in (check out the school web page for a possible list); applicants willing to participate in extracurricular activites always have an edge.

Good Luck!! Teaching Rocks!

Do a google search for “teacher interview questions”. You will find a bunch and many of those websites will give you help on how you should answer the questions.

Number one would be “Do you (the teacher) have any problems with discipline?” You should say No but on the really bad cases I would appreciate some backup from the principal. They might ask if you know your material and what experience do you have.
