A runner takes 9 seconds to run a distance of 132 feet. What is the runner’s speed in miles per hour?
If A can do a job in 8 days and B can do the same job in 12 days, how long would it take the two men working together to complete the job?

second answer is 5 days but i dont know the ratio of feet and miles

Ok kid,
1) 132 feet = 132*12*2.54/(100 *1000*1.6) = 0.02514 miles
speed = 0.02514*60*60/9 = 10.05 mph
2) in 1 day A can do 1/8 of the job
In 1 day B can do 1/12 of the job
so in 1 day they can do 1/8 + 1/12 of the job or 5/24 of the job
so they would take 24/5 = 4.8 days to finish
