It largely depends on what you are looking for. What I used to do to understand the plays better was to read example essays online, it just helped to hear someone else’s view on the character’s, plot and so on because everyone has difficulty in understanding their tutors at times. I used http://www.shakespearehomework.com when it had what I was looking for (it has good Macbeth essays and full script), when I was feeling brave I tried http://absoluteshakespeare.com/ (their essays are a little more advanced). Hope that helps.

I’m going with Carmen on Sparknotes.

Sparknotes kicks butt! I’ve used it for several things in my college career. It offers plot analysis, theme/motif, scene by scene break down, character analysis and basic summaries.

For future reference, you can find just about any literature piece required by high school or college instructors. Just make sure you don’t plagiarize.

Pink Monkey is a site comparable to Sparknotes, and they are okay for a second opinion, but they do not have as many pieces available and they just aren’t as good.

Good luck! Shakespeare kicks butt! He’s soooo funny, really, his tragedies are funnier than his comedies. Keep an eye out for the third murderer….

I’d say sparknotes. Also, on sparknotes, click on “No Fear Shakespeare” because they have “translated” versions…..You can read Macbeth in plain English.
