It is not completely, but is indeed close to becoming illegal.

“Hate speech” laws have nearly made it to where one can be arrested and tried, merely because some over-sensitive liberal becomes offended by what is supposed to be protected by the first amendment, FREE SPEECH!

The same people that claim to support our right to free speech, are the ones who fight to silence anybody they don’t agree with, or who says something that offends them.

They claim that the first amendment was written to only protect speech that is not offensive, but the whole idea of the first amendment is based on protecting those who speak their mind, from those who are offended and would desire to prosecute. After all, what one person says will ALWAYS offend somebody else in some way or another, but that is just how it goes. In all actuality, I would have to say the “N word” is banned for the most part, especially for white people, as it is now considered a “hate crime” if used toward blacks and other non-whites.

Just this month the NAACP has “buried” this word.

Although you will find very similarly sounding word in the dictionary

niggard

Main Entry: 1nig·gard

Pronunciation: ‘ni-g&rd

Function: noun

Etymology: Middle English, of Scandinavian origin; akin to Old Norse hnøggr *********; akin to Old English hnEaw *********

: a meanly covetous and stingy person : MISER

– niggard adjective

Which is definitely not the same, and I could never find out how the “n” word really came about. But because of the terrible conotation it evokes it is best forgotten

The word you are referring to stems from the word ***** which means black in latin I believe. There is nothing bad about that word any more than the word white. When people start judging others by the shade of their skin rather than the content of their character is when racial prejudice rears it’s ugly head. No the N word is not illegal to say but it is offensive to people of all races.

Racism will never end because of dumb *** people(of all races).Gee they won’t ban the word because people are complaining, they’ll ban it so they can find someone 500 bucks for saying it.Rappers are the only people who really use the damn word(yes black rappers),but if they ban that word they need to ban every other racial slur.Any word that’s offensive to any race.

Everyone relates to this word as being a racial slur but originally it simply meant – an outcast. So it’s all about the context in which it is used.

all i see is 6 asterixes, which could mean a 6-star rating, like a hotel…

i know you meant a “curse word,” but i wouldn’t know if there’s no letter to figure out which one you meant… i can only presume it IS banned in YA! but illegal to say is up to you, i think 🙂
