A singlet is a term used in theoretical physics referring to a one-dimensional representation. It is also a sleeveless athletic jersey, esp. a loose-fitting top worn by runners, joggers, etc; a single unit; an unpaired or separate item; and a man’s undershirt or jersey. That last one is mainly a British usage.
