is physical therapy the same as Health Sciences/Allied Health Services ?

For instance, one of our local programs will award students who have completed all the PT prerequisites and their general education a BS in “health sciences” once they’ve completed enough credits to earn the degree. However, the degree is meaningless unless they are actually admitted into the graduate phase of the physical therapy program (which is an MS in some schools and doctorate in others). The graduate physical therapy program may be housed in the school of Allied Health Professions (or Services) which usually houses several majors…PT, OT, SLP, nursing, etc. Universities are comprised of several schools…the school of allied health servies may be such a name for one of the schools.
Graduates of a physical therapy program earn either a master’s or doctorate degree IN physical therapy.
