Some find that the ACT is an easier, more straight-forward test, but its all relative. I took both, and when placed on a conversion chart, the scores are almost exactly identical (depending on the chart my ACT score is slightly better). I prepared extensively for the SAT, and then took the ACT cold because I was encouraged to by family and counselors. Take both and see how you do. You never know what might happen.

The two tests frequently score in the same ‘range’. The difference is what they test. The SAT seems to test for factual knowledge while the ACT is geared to thought processes. Some people may have found the ACT ‘easier’ because it does not emphasize factual knowledge and recall as much as the SAT. Take both! You can determine which schools see what.

It really matters on your preparation I guess. Since ACT has a science section on it, it makes it different abit harder since you haven’t prepared for science on the SATs. It changes on the difficulty for everyone, some people do well on it than the sat or worse.

not neccessarily, however I do know of someone who scored perfectly on the SAT and only average on the ACT, so it really depends on you!
